Early in the morning, we arrived at the heliport in Kahului.

Although we did the driving part first, we had to do the helicopter safety briefing at the heliport. I thought the poster was kinda awesome (and no, we didn't walk behind the helicopter!)

So the Road to Hana(TM) is quite an adventure. There are 46 one lane bridges, meaning that you have to wait if someone's on the other side. Also, there are 620 curves on it, making the experience somewhat nauseating.

Along the winding road there are lots of neat trees. This is rainbow eucalyptus!

There are wild chickens living around there, because of a hurricane that freed them from their outdoor coops. Here they are crossing the road! (for reasons unknown)

Because of the crazy rock formation, the waves can cause giant splashes, like this one!
